- I liked that Hartley gave Galiardi lots of ice at the end of the game. You could see how bad he wanted to make up for his mistake.
- David Jones looked great. His skating makes him look sluggish, but he keeps up with the play.
- I gained a lot of respect seeing Russell stand up to Ovie
- The push we put on after the Capitals tied up was definitely a positive to draw on. I find this team far more interesting to watch than teams of recent past.
- Ramo was ok. Some of the goals were extremely difficult saves to make.
- Having not watched any preseason, I was impressed with Monohan. I always assumed that he would be sent down, but he looked surprisingly good. Very mature.
- It was great to see out break out and our entrance into the zone. It seems like Hartley is allowing for creativity as long as you are where you are supposed to be.
- We did not give Washington skaters much ice at all.
- I enjoyed TSN's telecast, and would swear Ferraro is growing some Flames love. May just be an underdog thing, but kudos to him for doing some research on these youngin's
Overall, the Flames looked much better than I was expecting. But I am conditioned to watch this team with Red-colored glasses, as I am a glass-half-full guy.
