I bought the Grapeseed airstrip with Trevor and did the first couple missions before doing any flight school, and you can get up and maneuver around fine. It's the landing and skirting around tight spaces where it gets tricky at first. From only knowing flying from previous GTA's, its a little different too, what with the whole picture flipping with you now. Also gotta train yourself to move left/right with LB/RB, as opposed to just L/R on the joystick.
I think stealing a plane from LSX and then trying to do an E-landing on top of Chiliad to grab a parachute as your very first time in a plane in V would be quite challenging.

I cursed the landing challenge at flight school every single time I failed, but now I can land my fighter jet on nearly anything. Makes me want to buy the airport so I can have a plane in the north and south.
