No you can, but you don't really see it often. Most times teams seem to loan guys if they are on the outs. Mitch Wahl being the most recent example. Was loaned to Hamilton when he was struggling and didn't really have a spot in the organization.
IIRC Feaster did mention they would possibly try to loan a goaltender if they felt that was best for them. I just don't think it is an ideal situation. They most likely want to be able to control how much he plays and he'll definitely get the playing time down in Alaska.
