Really, we can't possibly have worse goaltending this year than we had last year. Kipprusoff was 43 out of 45 Qaulified goalies in GAA, 44th out of 45 in Save percentage. Joey McDonald was slightly better in each category, T-34 in save percentage and 37th in GAA.
Also, the Flames did not lose either of their top two forwards from last year (Stajan & Stempniak)
Frankly, I think that if the goaltending can be decent and the team can form some good chemistry and have fun out there, we could be a playoff team.
Either way, I don't think the team is going to be worse than last year, where they finished only 6th last.
