Nothing wrong with paying tribute to some of the western culture identity but it goes overboard sometimes. Why not make Harvey the hound into harvey the horse?
Anyways Calgary's idenitity is probably a debate for another thread, but I see no reason why the Flames have to pay tribute to western culture on their jersey.

I think you're the one going overboard. Some are just simply suggesting Flames use the Calgary flag to reflect our city heritage, which makes sense since that's a symbolic identity for the city. We're not demanding all roads have their pavement removed and we all go around in horse carriages. Plus, the only time this city truly embraces it's western heritage is for two weeks in July every year. Any other time of the year it behaves just like any other city.
