Yeah I can imagine the transition from total censorship to trust is tough. I think the approach of being there for questionable stuff is great, ideally you want the kid to be able to mentally handle it and not let it impact their morals before they get flooded with it. How to treat women would be a great one, something like GTAV just continues all kinds of bad things in society.

When I was 14 one of the friends swiping a porno mag for everyone to look at was common, but that's pretty limited compared to the flood of porn that is incredibly explicit and a good portion of it treats women like garbage.

It's not impossible to control though, something like OpenDNS you can put on all the devices and either have control (and be able to tell if they've changed it), or at least have some reporting. Depending on age you can either filter (I use it to filter youtube on my kid's computer and devices), or just track.. Or some combination, I'd eventually like to give my kid more access.

Plus it can block a lot of really bad stuff that you wouldn't even know about.
