I suspect people understand that as well. But so what? The organization obviously believes Colborne brings something that it valued and that Horak didn't have. Might be size, might be a higher ceiling, might be both.

The reality is they had the opportunity to acquire Colborne for a very low acquisition cost, and they pulled the trigger. I think we can all agree that Colborne wouldn't clear waivers, so that means that either Street or Horak are starting the year with the Heat.

I thought both players (Horak and Street) had a strong and I have no problem with Street getting the spot on the opening day roster.

My prediction: Monahan is returned to major junior after 9 games and Horak spends the rest of the season with the Flames.
