I agree, but it's not how GOOD they are in each zone. Crosby is amazing everywhere on the ice, Sven, not being a generational talent doesn't need to be. But you missed the point. Sven does need to be hard on the puck and going all out all the time, not just in the areas he's good at.
When Iggy was one of the best players in the game, he worked hard in all ends of the ice. He wasn't the greatest in all ends, but he busted his ass. Iggy the last 5 years picked his spots, maybe he had to with age, but it made him much less effective. Sven is 20 years old, hopefully he didn't learn any bad habits early on, but he is in no position to "pick his spots", if he does he will be a very below average pro in his prime, which is what the Flames are trying to avoid with the way they are handling him.
