I wonder what are Horak's options (or any other player's in similar situation)? I can think of the following:

Suck it up and try playing better.
Ask GM to be traded to another team.
Leave NHL and go to another league (KHL or Swiss etc.).

Are there any other legal ways out of the AHL for a player that thinks he is being shortchanged by the GM or the unfortunate cap situation and that he could do better with another NHL team?
