Have you ever been to a municipal golf course on a summer weekend? No rich white billionaires there. It is a great outdoor game and people love playing it. There used to be courses around Calgary where you can play for $1/hole. Claresholm or Nanton might still be the case, although I am not sure anymore. Golf is very democratic and equalizing. If you play like crap, it doesn't matter how much money you make to other people in your foursome.

It isn't much different from hockey. A bunch of rich white people playing a rich white man's sport. Look at how minorities are represented in almost every other major team sport - basketball, soccer, baseball, and football. The vast majority of the best players are non-whites. Sure, there is the odd exception that proves the rule, like Tiger Woods or Jarome Iginla, but I think we can all agree that most of the people that play both golf and ice hockey come from white, middle class and above families.
A dollar a game? Club rental, cart rental, green fees, you're looking at a hundred bucks a shot for the average golfer. It is hardly a game that the average person that can just pick up and play.
