The equity firms, Birch Hill Equity Partners Management Inc. and the Catalyst Capital Group Inc, entering comes across as shady to me. Seems like something Telus, Bell or Rogers would use to hoard spectrum. Set these guys who to make bids and win blocks of spectrum but never use them and transfer them to the big companies when it's legal to do so.
This spectrum shouldn't be difficult to roll out once the auction is complete so I hope there are set time limits being imposed by whoever wins various blocks in each region.
