It wasn't high at all, no risk of hitting face, what am I missing??? Those were barely 2 minute penalty type slashes. A crosscheck in front of the net by a defenceman trying to clear out the crease would hurt and could do way more damage than those.
I'm sure Kessel is really saddened that some may think he is dirty now. I am sure throughout his career he has been explicitly instructed to do whatever you need to do to protect yourself from the big dumb unskilled oafs who are trying to hit him. I bet he has had this happen to him since he was 10 years old. If I was his father I would say that you do whatever and I mean whatever it takes to protect yourself from big dumb idiots.

The slash making contact with Scott wasnt high...no. But watch the takeaway as he prepares to hit him....head height. Extremely dangerous.
