I dont mind the ending. If that is how it ended after a very solid season i think it would have been satisfying.

Season 4 is one of my alltime favourite seasons of TV. Seasons one and 2 were great. But 6/7/8 just kept going downhill. I think they could have saved it if they had deb find dex at the end of season 5. But it seemed from that point on they didnt have a plan.

Dexters actions killed Rita, Deb, Doakes, Laquerta, ect. Everyone who Dexters uses as a cover dies. So he decides to fake his death and move on. The problem is why would he leave Harrison with Hanna when he has perfectly good grandparents who now think hes dead. Thematically though the ending works. I think they should have had Dexter go bad though in the final scene killing innocent people having given up the code blaming it.
