He is weak defensively in the WHL he needs to go there to learn how not to be a pylon at the lower levels.
Maybe if they want him as a goon and only goon it makes sense to have him leave juniors but if they have any plans for him to play in the NHL as a defenseman they need him to spend a lot if time in juniors learning how to play.
