There are 70 houses in lakeview that would need to be purchased and demolished. Let's make it 140 for those of you that are going to argue we need much more space than a single row. At a million dollars house (well over market value ) that adds up to 140 million.

If the band is being offered 500 million and guarenteed land rights, then why are we even considering that route?

Sure, the poor lakeview residents would be displaced but who would refuse to sell their house at a premium price? Is there no room left in or near lakeview for new community development?

There's probably a lot more to it so maybe someone can fill me in.

I can't seem to remember how the home purchasing went down when Glenmore was made bigger. Didn't the city buy some homes on the northside of Glenmore, between Elbow and 14 st?
