Calgary International Film Festival gets glamorous with The Grand Seduction opening gala

After a about a dozen speeches, we got to see The Grand Seduction. To say this movie is "in the spirit of" Waking Ned Devine, is the understatement of the year. A good, but derivative movie.

People were sure glammed-up for this. Quite a few tuxedos. His worship, Mayor Nenshi made a fine speech. He is a movie geek, and once saw 49 films at one festival.

There was free booze and appies after the movie (free being a relative term, as the tickets were $75).
