I think there's more than enough evidence to prove that "drafting for need" is a flawed philosophy as opposed to "best player available" Clowney is a can't miss stud. He doesn't even have to be DL. He's fast enough to be used as OLB in a 3-4 defense. Take a QB in the later rounds or even in 2015.

I think it has been pretty well proven that you can't win in the NFL without competent QB play, and there are not enough competent QB's to go around. Adding Clowney turns the Browns from a good defense into a top 5 defense. That's great, but it isn't going to win them games if their offense continues to be among the worst.
If they don't pick Clowney they have a plan to actually score points. Not drafting for need is all well and good at every position but QB.
