Not emotional, at all. The term ignorant isn't a bad word, if that's what made you think I was being emotional. Today's smartphones borrow from the iPhone, which borrowed from something before it. The touchscreen etc wasn't the first phone of it's kind to market.
But Apple is (was?) great at getting to market the polish and spin that made people want their products. No one wanted a phone of that type before that, after Apple but their brilliant polish on it, they did. Similar to the iPad etc.
Apple then set that new bar, a new bar that other companies tried to follow, then catch up, then pass.
Now Apple is the one doing the following and with their latest release it's still all they're doing unfortunately. They've become the Blackberry that their most loyal followers used to mock and torment, they aren't leading the pack anymore.
