I just wanted to add that I dont think this is limited to just Gen Y. It seems everyone is living with ENTITLEMENT these days. Generally people just dont care about people as much as the past. Its essentially keeping up with Jones' x100 in my opinion regardless if you have the energy and drive to get the things you want.
