The biggest takeaway that I had from today was that there isn't much of a step down from the upper tier prospects and the older prospects to the players that are in the NHL.
Poirier, Monahan, Baertschi, Granlund, Hanowski, Reinhart, Bouma, and Knight all looked as if they could slot in to spots on the Flames without much of a drop off in skill or overall abilities.
As strange as it sounds, I could see Poirier getting 9 games along with Monahan. He's been a lot more noticeable than Monahan, who's more consistently reliable. The player that Poirier reminds me of the most from past Flames is Robert Reichel.
Today was the first time seeing Ramo live, and I was not impressed. He wasn't centered that often and was too busy in net instead of being calm and collected. If I had to rank them all thus far, it would be Berra, McDonald, Ortio, Ramo, Brossoit.
