Is that really a bad option? It's not like we were/are strapped for cap space. Alternatively Horcoff could have been had for mondo cheap for a two year bridge and would have been a good mentor for our young Cs. I guess what is frustrating is how you see Nill come in as a rookie GM and solve the Stars C depth in one off season while Feaster's answers have been Roman Cervenka and Steve Begin. Yes, circumstances have changed since we've started the rebuild however it's not like Boyd Gordon is post-apex and having some vet help like Horcoff in position where we have struggled at wouldn't have hurt either (bearing in mind Horcoff's NTC which may have made any deal moot).
