Why is everyone so concerned about the best deal I get for my money?

I don't think everyone is concerned about what's best for you personally, this thread isn't the Sept 10th Apple Event for sun. I know I'm being a bit facetious by saying that, but its' true. We're speaking in general terms. That's great that The iPhone and the corresponding products work great for you, that's awesome but we're allowed to compare it to other products no?
The problems in this thread start when you get one or two guys getting way too defensive about Apple products. I'll admit when I respond the way I do I'm only adding to the problem, so I'll definitely stop but when you take away the overly sensitive defensive posts the thread is just fine. SuperMatt, a guy who said he owned the iPhone and will (?) be buying the new one, can't even criticize the camera claims without a dramatic post replying to him.
edslunch mentioned above that he is totally engrossed in the Apple ecosystem because it totally works for him and I totally understand that. Personally I like to be more fluid in what I can consider buying and that works for me.
