Dude came to my door like 2 weeks ago. Since I did this job a few years ago I let the guy in, even just to humour him. Once I told him I used to do what he did- well- it was a hilarious response. He damn near left on his own and seemed twitchy.
Anyway I asked him what his fixed rates were he was peddling (after lying about why he was there, which I called him on instantly- and then reprimanded him for).
Just Energy's fixed rates, which allegedly are the best of the bunch according to the liarface at my door, are horrific on Nat gas but... average on electricity.
By horrific on gas I mean like at least 50% higher than what you'll pay. The term is 5 years. AECO futures don't exceed, or really even go near their fixed rate offer over the term of the deal. It took a 3 second google search to figure this out. The sales guy didn't seem to understand that part.... but anyways...
Don't proceed, you'll lose money. You may consider fixing the electric separately, but that too is a gamble, probably not worth the effort. The only true company to do this #### with is Enmax since they have your water, sewage, so if you roll everything through them at least they can actually reduce admin fees, etc. with one bill.
Anyway, these contracts basically blow and are way higher than what we offered years ago through Direct Energy. I also don't remember lying to people about why I was there. That's straight up bs.
