Back in my single days, I remember eventually blocking most of my friends with babies because of the swarm of photos, so I tried to get around this by creating a Flickr page where I put up a ton of family pictures (set to private), and gave everyone who would be interested the password. Apparently that was way too hard for 95% of family though and nobody ever looked at them...and yet still kept asking for photos. As soon as I put them on Facebook, it was swarm of comments.
But I still try to be somewhat understanding of those who find it cloying. Definitely no photos on message boards, "I had a baby" threads starters, or showing photos to people without them asking. I really don't care about strangers kids, and I don't expect them to do so either. I try to limit photos of my daughter on Facebook to twice a month. Hopefully that doesn't annoy the childless friends too much, but still gets them to the grandparents and aunts and cousins and everyone else who seems to care.
