I am also fairly sure he will shine during this tourney. He is an elite scorer after all, and will show up well amongst his peers. He has been doing that for a while after all.
I do not, however, think he will be a thorn in the Flames' side much. Kid has an uphill climb to get into the NHL. I am happy to have Poirier over Shinkaruk, and I believe Poirier will end up being a very important piece for the future of the Flames. I think Shinkaruk could have been a good gamble for a team like the Flames to take with 3 first rounders, but I am also happy that the Flames did their best to make all 3 picks count as much as possible. Shinkaruk is a risk, and thus the drop from 'sure fire top 10' into the mid 20's. Attitude problems are a huge reason why kids fall in the draft these days (hence the interview process is often more regarded by teams over the physical testing portion). If true that this kid does have attitude problems, makes him more of a risk.
Really great to see Ferland being paired with Monahan tonight. Nice to see Ward rewarding this kid for his hard work and great play. Really love this kids game, and I still say he has the potential to be one of the biggest fan favorites of the franchise if he makes it.
