The kick is now there are essentially "discount" plans if you get a cheaper phone. The high end or flagship phones require the more expensive plans (starting at $80 a month), and not surprisingly the iPhone 5 is considered a flagship phone. I imagine once the 5S comes out then that will drop the price of the 5 to $99.

I wonder if the 5 is simply discontinued in favour of the 5C. I think it won't be like it has been in the past.
