The video in that link premises its argument in no small part on the notion that the bears drive tourism, employ locals, and are consequently worth more alive than dead (at least initially before veering off into the normal sort of stuff you'd expect). That's an incredibly effective environmental argument that I wish was made more often. Of course, it would need to be better fleshed out to demonstrate that the impact on the hunting industry wouldn't overshadow the tourism dollars at stake.
For anyone who's not particularly invested in this, that discussion might get their attention.
