I don't agree with trophy hunting. I think it's despicable to shoot a grizzly.
But there is no legal issue here. The native community doesn't like it. But Stoner didn't do anything wrong - he doesn't have to respect the request of the native community.
Many people in Canada ignore native communities requests (and are irritated if they actually take action on those requests, like blocking a road). This issue is little different. You are under no obligation to pay attention to others so long as you are working within the boundaries of the law.
If you have an issue with trophy hunting, you should talk to your MP and get him or her to start on legislation.
Until then - this is a non-issue.
