Guess it doesn't matter this year, not like we need the cap space to land a key piece, and maybe Kipper wouldn't hold out this long if we did, but frick, I get he has to take his time and figure it out for him, but there is also another party involved. How about you show a little respect to the organization that has allowed you to live the life you lead, that has allowed you to be in a postion to take all summer long and not have to answer to anyone on your career and let them know what you are doing so they can plan accordingly..

The way I read it, the holdup is with the Flames, not Kipper. The Flames either really want him to return so they can still have that marquee guy in their lineup or they just want to make it look like they aren't doing a cap circumvention (probably the latter). Whatever the case may be, Kipper told them he is retiring and the Flames were talking to him to see if he would reconsider it and they can wait until the start of camp to make things official.
