I asserted that Cleverley was safe and boring in his approach going backwards and sidewards all day.
You say that he was trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck. How so? Was he always looking for the through ball, splitting the defence, bossing midfield, ..... What?

17:38. Cleverley made a run and looks out of breath, he is obviously trying. Carrick finishes his cigarette and stubs his butt at the centre circle. It doesn't go out and Cleverley has to stamp on it for him. What a tryer.
