Do you just want it to be a bit of fire on the shoulder? Or something that represents the team name AND the city? A firefighters patch sound great to me.

But in your line of thinking, I believe Vancouver should do a tribute patch to the Marine Centre for Cetacean Research. And have you seen Dallas' patch for the Texas Observatory? The New England Bear Sanctuary anniversary patch?
Its a hockey jersey, not a Scout's uniform, lets leave the badges and gimmics at home please. The flags are bad enough as is.
