I don't agree with the comments that Nemisz job is to make the NHL. He didn't even get a call up last season while players like Bancks did.

His job is to prove he can take steps forward in the AHL. Either as a physical defensive bottom 9 player or as an offensive top 9 player.

He isn't so old that he should be written off if he is taking steps forward. But he took a BIG step back last season and he failed to take a step forward the season before that.

I have him at the bottom of the list. The only reason he is even on the list is because he is young enough to turn it around. But I think that is unlikely.
Nemisz was on the call up list the two years before this one (and personally, I thought he did well when called up). Some people would say that he regressed and that is why he didn't get a call up in 2013 but others say it is because he was battling injuries and it messed up his season. Obviously, I believe the injury story.

This summer Nemisz was given a 1 year contract and to me that says that the Flames also think that he should not be writen off just yet. If he shows up healthy and ready to go at the start of the season, manages to avoid re-injury, then the only thing left to do is earn a third call up and make it stick.

Anything less than that and he is probably looking at leaving the Flames or signing an AHL contract like Bancks.
