Celtic with no money is not good for Rangers at all in my opinion. Competition breeds success. Look at what happened to Celtic when Rangers got booted out of the league - they went on to lose their two best players, Hooper and Wanyama, just a year later.

I find it difficult to grasp small minded thinking like this. Any Scottish football supporter should be well versed in the importance of European seeding, not only at the domestic level, but at the international level as well. Remember when Scotland beat France home and away a few years ago? Even though they didn't qualify out of that group, the wins against such a higher ranked country bumped their own ranking up, which turned them from a fourth seed into a third seed in the next qualifying group. Success breeds success.

I don't mean this to sound condescending, but the Scottish Premier League is not what it once was, I think we all know that. Quality players are not attracted to a league that cannot offer them big money and top European competition. Celtic progressing on to the group stages of the CL can only serve to raise the profile of the league, and that is something that I feel is advantageous to all supporters of Scottish clubs, not just Catholics.

It looks to me like the earliest possible date that Rangers could be back in the CL qualifying stages would be July of 2016. Three years is a long time, and without investment, that coefficient could drop to a point where it would be extremely difficult for Rangers to get through three ties on their way to the group stages.
