Celtic making the group stages is actually a good thing for Rangers and for the rest of the league in Scotland. Rangers will be back in a few years challenging Celtic for the title and the UEFA co-efficient factor is extremely valuable in determining where the Scottish clubs fit in to the qualification stages of the CL itself. Just look at countries like Ireland - it is nigh on impossible for a team from that country to qualify for the group stages because of the poor co-efficient factor that determines seedings. Success breeds success, quite literally.
AC Milan stopped investing big money in the club a few years ago and it was no coincidence that Italy quickly lost their fourth qualifying place.
