It's not like he was an AHL all-star and led his team to the Calder Cup in his first pro season. He maybe doesn't have potential to be a top 2 NHL d-man, but he's a top 2 AHL d-man that might surprise people if he gets a shot due to injuries on the back end.

Not much love for 5'10" 175 lbs. defencemen. He'll need to be exceptional to make the NHL and he'll need to be on a team that has some big defencemen. The Flames defence is small as it is, so I don't give Billins much of a chance. He's worth a look but I'd project him to have a great career in Europe.
