I'd love to see this guy become a Lucic-lite down the road. that's a massive IF of course, but a quick compare:
Lucic: 6'4, 220lbs
Ferland: 6'1, 225 lbs
WHL Careers (regular season):
Lucic: in 133 games, he scored 87 point, and 298 PIMs => 0.65 points/game, and 2.24 PIM/game
Ferland (ignoring this past season): in 185 games, he scored 180 points, and 279 PIMs => 0.97 points/game, 1.51 PIM/game
naturally, the above is pretty meaningless, given their just stats and i haven't really watched either during their junior careers. I think the main thing about lucic, is not only is a bruiser wiht hands, which ferland appears to also be, he can really skate. I think that's likely one of the bigger deterrents for big bruising guys like these in making it at the pro level.
Hopefully Ferland can keep up and adjust to the pro's this year, but i'm still optimistic that there's a lucic-lite in there somewhere!

That is also what I like about Ferland.
What would be awesome is if Ferland and Harrison both work out. That would be a pretty wild second/third line to have a couple guys that are fast, big and looking to hit everything that moves AND also have the ability to score. Combine that with Knight playing center and the twin towers, Kanzig and Breen, on the backend and that could be a physically dominating shift of hockey.
