Unless you're seriously ill - you will probably never know for sure what you got hit with. Could be a virus. Could be food poisoning. Just like others have said, you want to keep hydrated. Water, gatorade - whatever floats your boat. Food if you feel like eating and it stays down. Rest, and take it easy.

This should go without saying, but wash your hands and wipe down surfaces in the bathroom. Whatever it is, you don't want to spread it to other folks in your house.

If you find you're shivering, running a fever, fainting, or not feeling better in 2 or 3 days, you should see a doctor. If an establishment is putting out contaminated food, there needs to be an investigation and "evidence" before any action can be taken.

...that "evidence" comes from you - in a little jar the doctor gives you.
