My friends who rent properties make sure their number/email is on the fridge in case anything needs to be fixed. They don't want some DIY renter messing up their property with a "fix" of their own.

Oh yeah, it's our responsibility, but they didn't want us to know because they had 7 people living in there when there was only 1 on the lease and they didn't want us to come in to see the disgusting mess they were living in, so they decided to take matters in their own hands I guess. Disgusting people. Surprisingly, we never had an issue with any other renter aside from one small complaint with a neighbour's dog barking at night. Never had we had anyone wreck a place before- and what was so alarming is this happened over the course of only 5-6 months.
