The worst is having to explain the practice to cashiers; and then sometimes supervisors. I actually had an arguement over the same thing as the OP once; the supervisor claimed that because the item was in two places, as long as one of the places was right it was OK. So many times I get the price check, and then they try to give it to me for the lower price; not free/ $10 off.

Superstore does seem to be the best for just doing it; no questions asked. Funny thing- once on my way to a Flames game I had to get cash. My brand of bank wasn't on my way, so I went into Superstore to buy a $1 item and do cash back. I grabbed a 75¢ chocolate bar and it rang in for something silly like $3. I asked the guy to do the price correction, to which he cheerfully told me it was free. I then had to ask if I could just pay the 75¢ instead; as I needed to do the cash back.
