I was shopping the other day. Saw 2 separate displays for the same shampoo. One displayed had it listed at $5.26. The other said $4.97. I wasn't there for the shampoo, but grabbed some anyway. Took it to the cashier, who rang it in and showed a price of $5.26. I told her about the display. No questions asked, and it was free.

Has anyone ever heard of this? I hadn't until my wife learnt about it last week.
Any store, or just the one you were shoping at? This sounds like an internal store specific rule. I find it hard to believe this would be across all retail set ups.
