Crazy, I grew up in Cape Breton,Nova Scotia long before that and while are little island was majority white in the 70's I certainly knew I wasn't the only color in town..If I did forget my hockey teamates would remind me in a hurry of my disgression!

By south shore of Nova Scotia you must mean like Yarmouth or what? little towns like Barrington?...zero chance they were behind the Cape Breton times IMO.white ,yellow,red,black...whatever....all the same even in those days.
