And to be fair, my very first comments were directed at your use of the word "rumour". That's what I've been talking about the whole time, it's you who has changed your story. Though, I see why, since you didn't fully understand what you were actually saying in the first place. All good man! Sorry! Didnt realise you weren't great at English! I could've guessed, but I didn't want to be rude. I just thought you were being purposely obtuse.

Kiprusoff has told the (Finnish) press he is retiring. That doesn't need to be official. Filing the papers is only a formality. Evidently he is in no hurry to do it, probably because he's on vacation and has nothing to lose by waiting till September.

As I pointed out earlier, being retired from hockey is not an official status. Filing retirement papers is, but it is not the same thing. Kovalchuk filed retirement papers, but is going to keep playing in the KHL. Kiprusoff did not file retirement papers, but he has announced that he isn't going to play anymore. Which of the two is retired? According to your thinking, it's Kovalchuk — but he only filed those papers to get out of his NHL contract. Common sense says it's Kiprusoff.

I was arguing about retired vs retiring. I probably said "rumour" a whopping 3 times this whole thread. My bad on the misuse if the word.... Moving on.

Oh, and I did use more than one word to describe what i meant (thesaurus link) to which strombo corrected me earlier.
