Ovechkin will likely end up a top 10-15 player of all time as I have said previously, so slightly above Bossy (especially if he wins a Cup). Also don't forget that during the Islanders dynasty Bossy was the third most important player on the team (behind Trottier and Potvin), so it's not like he was ever the franchise guy during that stretch of years.
I would disagree with putting him third behind Trottier. I know Arbour loved Trottier and 6 Stanley Cups are hard to argue against but Bossy was capable of putting up a goal-per-game in the playoffs, put up 50 or more goals in ever season he played except his last (which even then was 38 in 63 games) and was the first player in close to 40 years to go 50-in-50. Trottier was that all around center any teams wants, so I can't really argue against those who would pick him over Bossy, but I don't think it's very clear cut. Might even have to go season by season on those guys to decide and at the end of the day they each got a Conn Smythe. Oddly enough Potvin didn't.
