Default Playing music through Bluetooth in a car

So I'm having a hard time finding information on this. Hopefully someone can help clear up or provide some information.

My car has several different stereo functions: XM/Sirius, AM/FM, CD and Bluetooth.

When I want to listen to music on my phone, or tablet, I just put the stereo into Bluetooth mode and press play on my Google music app. Works great. Except that I can't see the artists names or track into on the display, in my car.

I thought with the new improvement to Bluetooth to Android 4.3, that the information would be displayed on my car display.

So is this an issue with the player (app), the phone/tablet or the car's display/bluetooth ability?

Any suggestions? It's not a big deal, but I heard that people were now getting the information displayed on their car's stereo display with the new bluetooth upgrade in Android 4.3.

Just to clarify, I'm using a Nexus 4 with Android 4.3. Same with my first generation Nexus 7.
