i agree that the revolving door of the canadian justice is a joke. i have no idea how long thieves are locked up for
i know the local rcmp were on the news lately saying that the majority of the crime in kelowna (like 90+%) is the result of a handful of individuals. it goes to reason that if they can lock those guys up for an extended period of time, crime will go down... at least until they are out on bail

my truck was broken into quite a while ago (like the late 90's). even back then the police didn't really do anything - report what was stolen and if they recovered it they'd let me know. i guess i was 'lucky' - they only stole a camera (point & click film camera) and the loose change in my cup holder. more than anything else i was choked that i lost the pics on the camera .
