The guy seems like a ###### bag for sure, and it does seem like a hugely ridiculous advertising stunt, but if raises money for something worthwhile, I think that's ok.
I guess the problem is, its a joke. Its not even really an extreme sport when he has the sherpa's setting him up a top rope and helicopters flying him up to base camp. He probably has a team of porters to help him wash his panties every time he wets them. The only thing innovative here is he managed to sucker someone who doesn't know what the hell he's doing (Under Armour) to foot him the bill... which I guess, good on him. UA really wants to capture some market share from The North Face, maybe after Addidas doing the same thing but they just bought up Five Ten.

Want something innovative? See how Ueli Steck is peak bagging (no sherpas or oxygen tanks or fixed ropes)... not thousands of porters and an entire team of people doing the real work to guarantee "100% success" ... most people who do this stuff, adventure and being on the sharp end is what its about. This fool is just on some ego trip backed by UA giving him $5.6M cause he doesn't know what he's doing. Will probably get a few sherpa's killed along the way.
