I know this might sound kind of weird, but wondering if anyone here has ever tried this before? I am getting really sick of buying these $100+ colognes that seem to wear off within 2 hours of applying it and have heard some of the longest lasting scents come from mixing pure essential oils together. Some of the Tom Ford stuff, for example, stays on really well and is very close to what I want and like, but the price point is too high to keep buying it every few months and thus am looking for alternatives.

I have found a few “recipes” online; here is a basic one for an example:

Sensual eau de cologne for men

10 drops lavender
20 drops coriander
22 drops sandalwood
23 drops cedarwood
5 drop frankincense
100 ml alcohol/vodka

So, has anyone ever tried anything like this? If so, how did it work? Any advice? Any "recipes"?
