I agree that a trade embargo would be a much more effective way of Canada making a stand and might actually make a difference (although I have no clue how much Russian/Canadian trade there is)

Right, because we all know that the men's hockey tournament isn't the biggest event at the winter olympics. Oh wait, it is the biggest event, and the defending champions wouldn't be involved. Yeah, that'd totally just get overlooked.
