He beat Mahut and Johnson. Mahut I can understand, long flight from France, not quite ready but Johnson is an American challenger veteran, that was a shock.

I did a bit more research, he's 18. Has never played a professional match, only played a handful of matches at junior level and going to UCLA in the fall. He's 2-0 lifetime in professional matches!  |
I just took a quick peak at the draw, if Mackenzie MacDonald wins his match and Vasek can knock off Gilles Simon of France, MM and Vasek would meet in the next round.
