I would absolutely take the short drive to Lunenburg. It is very close to Peggy's Cove if you are planning to do that.
The waterfront at Lunenburg and the colorful buildings are outstanding.
And if you do get to Lunenburg, you must stop and have the Acadian Seafood Stew at "The Grand Banker". I don't think I have had a better chowder.
And if you get that far, I would take the short 6 to 10 minute drive to Blue Rocks. It is a very quaint fishing village and the scenery there presents itself for great pictures.
